Research
My research examines how climate shocks, water scarcity, and policy incentives shape land use and agricultural decisions. Recent projects cover saltwater intrusion and rice farming in the Mekong Delta, and the economics of silvopasture and carbon sequestration in the southeastern United States.

Uses debiased machine learning on multi-year panel data to estimate the causal effect of climate stress on US milk production, allowing flexible controls for high-dimensional confounders while preserving valid inference on the treatment effect.

Combines cost-benefit analysis with biophysical carbon data to assess whether silvopasture adoption is financially viable for landowners in the southeastern United States, and how that viability changes once carbon sequestration is valued.
